Monday

It's Garbage Day!

26.8 degrees and starry-clear.

WKTV predicts that:
"We'll see some sunshine (Monday) morning, followed by increasing clouds throughout the afternoon. Highs will be a bit warmer too, near 60 by the afternoon.
A cold front will approach Monday night and Tuesday morning. We may see some showers ahead of the front, and they could move in as early as late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Rain will accompany the cold front initially, but as the front passes through temperatures will go from upper 40s in the morning, to low 40s and upper 30s by afternoon and evening. All in all, Tuesday looks nasty. Lake effect will build in Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and by that point, temperatures will be cold enough for a rain/snow mix in the valley, with a very wet snow in the hills. No accumulation is expected at this point.

Sumacs and other shrubbery in the middle of a corn field mark the location, just south of Route 20 across from the Pleasant Valley Grange, of the Buckley Family Burying Ground. Although there are several stones there, the only one that has been readable is that of Ezra Buckley who died in October of 1843.

When you drive along East Main Street, today, take a close look (if you can!) at the newly installed brackets on the "Wheeler Block."

Elegant, aren't they?

Have you been to Oriskany Falls, lately?

Mabel Bushee told me about these new banners:

FOR THE RECORD

It's been a wonderful season for Sox fans, but now the flags on Madison Street will come down and various baseball caps packed away.........

however:

....... an E-note sent late last night from Don Hazard tells me that "there is joy in Mudville tonight!" (He means "Terry Meadows.") That's Great!

All I know is - as soon as I've put the garbage out, I'm going back to bed!!
Late nights and early mornings don't go well together!
