It's Been Busy!
Weekend happenings included three fantastic performances of the WCS Musical, "Thoroughly Modern Millie," which was attended by just about everyone in town, it seemed! I hope that the students who were involved as members of cast AND/OR crew all had as good a time as the audiences did: they certainly did a wonderful job!!! BRAVO!(I'm watching the WCS website to see when photos of the production are posted. When that happens, I'll add the link, here.)
A Corned Beef and Cabbage Supper at the American Legion took place on Saturday evening.

Even before noon, yesterday, folks were lining up inside the Fire House for Chicken BBQ.
Wayne Brouillette was "cooking" for his family!

The event was sponsored by People to People Student Ambassadors
on behalf of WCS student Heather Davis
who will leave on July 5th for two and a-half weeks
in China.

More external hard drive copies of our own sets of The Waterville Times are being processed, but I discovered that Tom Tryniski has added that huge file to the inventory on his website. If you're interested in playing with it, first go HERE:
- Then, up along the top edge of the page, look for the word "INDEX" and click on it.
- A new page will open up telling you that you can browse papers - click the link "here."
- Go to page 2 of the index and scroll down the left-hand side - you'll find an icon for The Waterville NY Times, 1855 - 2007. (Sorry, there's no direct link to this.)
- Each reel of microfilm held two or three years' of scans, so you just have to make a jab at finding where you are in time.
- To find 100 years ago, start by clicking on the icon for 1906-1909. Save yourself some time by looking for PDF file 626 ---- click on that and Adobe will open up and show you this whole page.

Whenever I pass this little pond East of Sangerfield on Route 20, I wonder if that's where Toad, Rat, Mole and Badger from "Wind in the Willows" live!
