Good Friday w/ sunny add-on!

It's 20 degrees.

We have about two inches of new snow and, although it isn't snowing right now, the wind is blowing quite hard.
  • Today: Morning snow showers ending, then becoming mostly sunny. Breezy and cold. High in the low 30s. Wind chills in the teens.
  • Tonight: Mainly clear, breezy and quite cold. Low in the low teens.
  • Saturday: A mix of sun and clouds. Diminishing wind. High: 34, Low: 16
  • Sunday: A mix of sun and clouds, but increasing clouds and a chance of a few snow showers in the afternoon. High: 33, Low: 17
  • Monday: A mix of sun and clouds with a chance of a snow shower. High: 35, Low: 19

Town might have re-vote for trustee

Waterville - Here’s an update on Tuesday’s village elections.
* In Waterville, the village might have a re-vote due to the tie in the trustee election. Ruben Ostrander and Sean Campbell each received 68 votes. Town Clerk Lorena Lenard said she won’t know for sure until this morning.

Charles Thompson, who grew up on the corner of Shanley and Gridley-Paige Roads, sent these photographs to me, yesterday.

Thanks loads, Charles!

Yesterday afternoon I had a phone call from Bob Conlan, who grew up on Sanger Avenue. His primary reason for calling was that he wanted Teresa Lutoborski's telephone number because the village that his lives in where he is a Trustee intends to built a Bandstand! (We talked about THAT for a while!) But we actually spent more time talking about Waterville and how attached so many people are to the village, and who always call it "home."

These three examples of just that were in yesterday's mail:

From Jan and Paul Fleischmann:

"(We) haven't written in a while but today's blog had some items of personal interest for us.
  • Happy Birthday wishes to Rhelda, a good friend of my mother's (Frances Fleischmann).
  • Congratulations to Ms. Lewis on "Waterville Passages" success. Jan's friend, Bev Gibbons, is remembered fondly.
  • Lastly, Paul has warm memories of a Milt Jannone. He was one of the finest teachers Waterville ever had. He literally made an impression on me (with a demonstration of a Karate chop that left me numb!). But the more important thing was the interest in history and learning that he instilled."

Lisa Rider Pardee wrote:

"I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say Thank you for all the great pictures. They remind me of all the wonderful memories I have of Waterville. I'm not that far away but at times the days fly by so quickly, I just can't get back for a visit. Your pictures are the next best thing,"

An E-note from June Richmond:

"I start my day with (the blog) and it makes me still feel close to Waterville and all of you."
